DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Participate in and lead in a two-person team with the Field Based Peer Specialist. Work collaboratively with shelter staff to address the needs of clients with substance use disorders in the shelter system. Supervise Peer Specialists. Use crisis management, motivational interviewing, and harm reduction strategies with clients who experienced an overdose or adverse effect from substances. Use trauma informed practices to engage clients. Conduct SBIRT screenings. Assist Peer(s) in providing NARCAN training and other harm reduction education to all clients in the shelter program. Utilize group and individual format to assist clients in making and achieving both harm reduction and recovery goals. Creating linkages and referrals for clients. Document progress in notes, and complete monthly reporting for DHS. This job is in a residential setting, so staff will be expected to meet with the client in person, and to also engage with the clients in the residence....
